Boys Cross Country  Season Synopsis 2018

The boy’s SCPS Cross Country team finished 7th at the GHSA State Cross Country 1A Private Championship beating all other private schools from the Savannah Area and all schools from Area 1A Private.

Junior Grady Coppock finished 4th at the State Championship running the 2nd fastest time from the greater Savannah Area (a RHHS senior from Class 6A was the fastest). Daniel Harvey finished 7th at the State Championship with SCPS having 2 boys finish in the top ten for the first time ever.

The boys finished 2nd at the GHSA 1A Private Area 1 championship with Grady Coppock coming in 1st place and setting a new course record for the First Presbyterian Day School course. Daniel Harvey finished 2nd at Area. The boys won the Savannah-Area Private School Championship held at Skidaway State Park sweeping the top three positions with Grady Coppock, Daniel Harvey and Adam Staudt finishing 1, 2 & 3.

In the regular season meets, the SCPS boys were only beaten by schools from larger classifications (2A-7A). During the season, individual boys set 28 personal records (PRs) with the top 7 Varsity boys averaging 26 second improvements with their PRs. A total of 22 boys participated in Varsity and JV Cross Country this season with 17 earning Varsity Letters.
