Girls Cross Country Season Synopsis

The Girl’s SCPS Cross Country team finished 10th at the GHSA State Cross Country Class 1A Private Championship beating all other private schools from the Savannah area and all schools from Area 1A Private. Freshman Kate Britt was the SCPS top finisher (36th) followed by fellow freshman Kendall Lynes (38th). 

The girls finished 2nd at the GHSA 1A Private Area 1 championship. Alexa Staudt was the top finisher placing 4th. The girls won the Savannah-Area Private School Championship held at Skidaway State Park with Alexa Staudt finishing 2nd, Kate Britt 5th, Kendall Lynes 7th and Alex Hoffman 9th.

In the regular season meets, the SCPS girls were only beaten by schools from larger classifications (2A-7A). During the season, individual girls set 31 personal records (PRs) with the top 7 Varsity girls averaging 52 second improvements with their PRs. A total of 27 girls participated in Varsity and JV Cross Country this season with 17 earning Varsity Letters.
